About the Western Australia IET network.
The IET (previously known as the IEE) Western Australia Local Network represents members of the IET who live and work in Western Australia. The IET has world-wide membership and recognition and comprehensive knowledge networks and resources. Our members have global experience and are dedicated to the sharing and to the advancing of knowledge throughout the global Science, Engineering and Technology communities to enhance peoples lives - Think globally and act locally.
We work closely with the Engineers Australia (EA) Electrical and ITEE colleges and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) to organise joint events and also present a joint annual program for the presentation of electrical papers via the Joint Electrical Electronic Papers (JEEP) program. The JEEP program comprises 10 papers and occasional site visits. The JEEP events provide an opportunity for cross-institution networking.
Our network organises various events throughout the year including technical presentations, site visits, university seminars, sundowners, the Faraday lecture for high school students, the local (and every few years the national) Present Around the World competition and the annual networking dinner.
We have an active Young Professionals Network at most of the Western Australia universities.
